Gibson photography
Hi, I’m Aaron. Born and raised in Scotland where I spent many years discovering its beauty.
I’ve been drawn to photography for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I watched a lot of wildlife and nature documentaries with photographers travelling to far corners of the world. What fascinated me was how a single photograph could preserve a moment in time, and how it could create a connection between someone behind the camera and someone viewing it years later.
I knew early on that I wanted to do that in my own way. The next logical step for me was to study and obtain my degree in photography in the City of Glasgow, which I completed in 2019.
I’m most at home outdoors. I’ve spent years climbing in the Scottish Highlands, trekking to Everest Base Camp and up Kala Patthar, and summiting Kilimanjaro. The camera has always come with me.
When it comes to photographing people, I keep things simple. I’m not into stiff posing or anything that feels forced. I prefer natural light, relaxed sessions and moments that happen on their own; the laugh after a joke, the quiet look between two people or even the emotion that wasn’t planned. Those are the photos that mean something later.

In 2025 I married my wife Romy and relocated to the Netherlands to start our new life together. Living in this country, I can’t help but see the beauty of the Netherlands which inspires me to create special moments and capture the stories of people around me.
I find it important that every shoot feels easy-going. No pressure, no rush.
I value trust, I’m always there to give a bit of gentle guidance when needed, but I also see the importance to create a space for you to be yourselves. My wife is often with me on sessions, together we keep things calm and relaxed, which shows in the final images.
At the end of the day, I want you to have photographs you can look back on and remember how that moment actually felt.
